I had a good night on the job last night sales wise. If this campaign lasts us until the end of the week, I’ll be surprised. AS I’m looking for my empties, I see Steve the big boss, in Robs office greeting me in the threshold saying hi. We talk about the weather. Then I learned that Rob was suspended. I don’t know if this was for a few days or what the details were or anything. I had a good night on the job pulling in 4 CC’s and a lot of empties.
A group of us walked across the empty lot to the LRT and I ended up with Sarah and Wendy. Not the Sarah from Audrey’s books. They sat on either side of me waiting for the Clairview train with me. Sarah noticed my Itouch in my hand and grabbed it from me fixing back the time. Sarah got out at Churchill and Wendy rode with me to Belvedere. Nice ladies. Not that I‘m looking but one was spoken for and the other one not looking. Both know I‘m married and settled in and not interested, which is true.
Monday night Raw was pretty good last night. On a scale from 1-10 I’d rate it an 8.5. I don’t get all these Nxt’s beating up on everyone. It’s all part of the storyline. They were doing the same thing on Smackdown the other night. Now, with week #2 of Raw’s anonymous general manager. Strange.
I think I’m going to take X minus 1 play list with me into work today and listen to the first episode. For some reason I can’t sync the X minus one play list but I can sync the other play list. Strange. Episode one of X minus one was a story by Ray Bradbury I wanted to listen to.
My I pod speaker doc I ordered from Tech City/Ebay on the 15th earlier this month has been in Vancouver Customs waiting to be cleared for (hopefully) finale delivery. How do I know this? Tech City sent me a tracking number and I followed the prompts to Canada Post and the tracking number led me to the location of my item. I’m patiently waiting my first Ebay order. So it’s been in Vancouver Customs since the 23rd which has been for 4 business days now.
If this works ok and I’m sure it will, I want to upload to PP some more funds and get a couple WWE T shirts. Anyway, that’s all for now.

Saturday was very, quiet very strange
My wife left out of here about 4:15pm yesterday. She called on her break saying that she got into work with 10 minutes to spare. I didn’t do much Saturday. I woke up about 1am watched what was left over of the Winnipeg/Toronto game. 13-12 Winnipeg. Toronto’s home loss record is now at 8 games!
I couldn’t feel it what with the fan on my back all afternoon but apparently we got up to +31C as a high yesterday. Anne made some very tender side ribs for my supper but they were really greasy. I don’t ordinarily like side ribs but these were pretty good. On a scale from 1-10 I’d rate them a 7,
The bird cages were outside and the clouds were growing dark and the wind was picking up. I decided to bring the birds inside. We got some rain but the real casualty in all this was at the annual Big Valley Jamboree (a popular annual country western music gig in Camrose about 2 hours South of Edmonton.) the strong winds tore the roof off of the main stage killing one person and injuring 15 others. We Didn’t get much rain here but this was a scary storm. Not as bad as the storm a few weeks ago though. Even Heritage days was called off around the supper hour.
My entertainment last night consisted of watching the Riders/Calgary CFL game. The game started off slow but built up to a whacky finish. It ended up 24-23 Saskatchewan but the last 30 seconds were a real nail biter. It’s always good to see a Calgary pro sports team lose hehehe.
Oh, Friday after work when I went to Audrey’s they had one more day of their 20% off Science fiction Fantasy book sale. I thought Friday was August 1st. I’m running a day late it seems. We’re back on track now, I picked up the RA Salvatore’s Dark elf trilogy rather then the Ben Bova Sam Gunn Omnibus. I can get that next weekend at regular pricing. My next special order will be The New Space Opera 2 and 5 Warhammer Omnibus books.
Anne called me at her 8:30pm break saying she was going to deposit our rent money into her account. We’ve got the August rent taken care of, rental subsidy process underway and the August bus pass. Except for her lack of hours things are more or less stabilized. We really need that rental subsidy under control. Friday afternoon bm encouraged me to come in from 1:30pm-9. I’d like to and I just might. As for me, I’m out of here later today for my 2-6 Sunday shift and I’m back at about 7pm.
Anyway gang, that‘s all for now

Its been an intersting weekend to say the least
Yesterday when I went into the office there were after effects of Saturday nights storm by The Days Inn. A good chunk of fallen tree lay on the sidewalk. Even out here there were branches broken on the ground. None of these trees were up rooted out behind us here but many trees in various parts of the city were. Lightening caused a house fire not far away from us. Wind were gusting 100K at times. A pedway connecting to the CN tower was destroyed. Capital X was shut down sending patrons scattering for the LRT at nearby Coliseum station. There were hundreds of people lining the stairwell and stairs trying to get to one of the many contingency buses the City had out there. Many of the trees that got uprooted or were split apart stood for about 70 years. In my wife’s place of work on the 17th floor they could feel the window panes shake and curtains move. The storm shut down Whyte Ave, the Capital X and a few local businesses and even parts of the LRT. Even lights in our place dimmed a couple of times. Luckily thee wee no injuries reported and no fatalities. For awhile there the storm got so bad that even Tweeter featured Edmonton as one of the top key words. It was quite the storm. We usually get about one of these every couple of years due to a hot summer day when the temperatures get to above +28C. We got 1 day that’s about +28-+30C this week yet. Good thing Anne had brought Boots inside.
You know there are a lot of flakey people out there, Earlier Anne was telling me how she went out behind us here and looked up at the other suits to see about that squirrel if she could spot it. People were out on their balconies enjoying the night air. Then she mentioned how on her way to work this crazy man came aggressively towards her in broad daylight in her face yelling at her for her not to look up at their balcony. He swore at her called her a name. This person has got to have a mental problem. She asked me, when I come home for me to go outback stand there and look around and glance up to the balconies. She recalls now there were two guys sitting on their balcony. She said it must really annoy them. But tonight is Monday night Raw but I can always catch what I miss Tuesday afternoon. Anne said don’t go and stair at those guys but just stand around and occasionally glance up as if I’m looking for something. Apparently it annoys them anyone looking up at them. Good, if they are there I’m going to annoy them. I said Anne should have told the caretaker, but the caretaker and my wife are on shaky ground at the moment. Some people really should seek mental help and if I annoy them I’ll make a point of saying they need help. Are they the balcony police or something? Yeesh, some people.
In about half an hour were going to call Revenue Canada and have them issue us another gst cheque. Most likely we’ll get the cheque sometime next week.
I’m still reading “The Wilding.” Again it’s a slow go (on my part) There are 2 basic story arcs going on. This is still the first 50 pages. The writing is flowing better then the previous book and is a little more accessible. I’d like to finish this in August.
Well, ZZ top is guest host of Monday night Raw. I don’t know if I like the way this is going. I like the idea of a guest general manager and all but let it be somebody that is on the inside. One of the “hall of fame” for example. They could have Jerry Lawler for example or Jake “the snake” Roberts or Mean Gene, or anyone of a dozen others.
Last night while watching “Attack of the show.” Or AS, they were talking about Blip. Fm and how it works with Twitter etc. You set yourself up as a DJ search for songs/videos you like of your favorite artists and blip them. Some DJ’s have lots of listeners. I thought this would be a great way to fill up the “My Music” block. Music is very important to me as a writer. Initially I opened a free account and began toying with this and had 14 tracks of The Clash loaded up or Blips. Then I found a nifty widget I could put in the block and it works fine except I realized I had to change my DJ name but when I did I lost all the Clash blips recorded earlier. But I don’t want just The Clash tunes, I want The Beatles, David Bowie, Kansas, Sweet, Abba, etc in there. This is why widget reads empty and I'm going to install the code for a widget here soon as well. I’ll be playing around with it after Raw tonight.
And finally SF Signal has some cool SFF book covers on display today. I like Enigma by SF Bently the best. Cool looking cover.
Anyway gang, that‘s all for now.

Freaky weather for late April. Normally we're about +18C for this time of year.
I got up this afternoon on the late side today about 12:30pm. Snowing like a blizzard out there. Thing is it doesn’t stay on the ground long. I took this picture just now. Nobody at 2:45pm April 26th is going to try and convince me about “global warming.”
Anne left for the truck. We get some decent quality food out of there at discount prices. She sure did pick the day for it that’s for sure.
There was no winner on the $22M draw last night. Lots of folk won other prizes of course. On my ticket I got 2 numbers. I didn’t even win the extra. But when Anne got home, she got 2 numbers including the bonus number so she wins $5. She didn’t win the extra on her ticket either. The draw for Wednesday is now $32M. I thought about what would I do if we did win this one. I think I’d still work on the job and just say to Rob that I have something else and leave it at that. If I left a message on the answering machine that I resigned they would know I won the jackpot.
Anne’s got a $50 gift voucher from her job last week she’ll be getting this week. She picked Best Buy and she said I can have it towards a game or whatever. I’m thinking about Fable 2 or Shimmering Isles and I’m leaning towards the later. Whenever I get around to finishing Oblivion.
Yesterday after work I wanted to go out and get my haircut but I was too exhausted from having no sleep the night before. Friday night/Saturday mornings are hard on me because I don’t get much sleep. I’d rather go to Rob after a few weeks of putting in a few afternoons and ask because I’m diabetic and it’s wearing me down, now that I put a few extra hours in, can I have Saturdays off. It’s getting really hard on me.
After work I boarded a very crowded train heading home. I barely got a seat. Apparently the City opened up 2 new stations after the Health Science Center on the South LRT: McKernan/Belgravia and South Campus. I figured I’d stay on my seat and take the trip South and have a look. From Clairview to South Campus, took about 25 min. There’s not much out that way but by this time next year the South LRT will be completed out to Southgate Mall and Century Park.
I got off at the corner of 39th/137th just up here and walked by BK. I should have ordered something but at that time I wasn’t very hungry. I went into Rogers across the street for a bag of chips for my Hawks/Flames game last night. Hawks took that game 5-1 and now they go to Calgary for a game #7 I believe on Monday .
Anne had called a couple of times to update me. I wish she could have got that gift card for Coles or Chapters. But Best buy is ok.
I’ve never been in a Best Buy store before. I’m still working on BRH and that’s what I’m going to do after I blog this.
Anyway gang, that’s all for now
e. Jim
