That was one hell of a close call for me. I'm glad that's all over with.

I feel like a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Anne walked out of here with me and I forgot my bus pass. She offered to fetch it for me and the light changed as she kissed me off. I got to Clairview and onto my bus to read for a bit. It was very windy out there.


I decided despite things I’d read anyway on the train in. I was expecting the vultures to descend on me but to my surprise, nothing happened. Rob came in and smiled at me, “Hi James how was your weekend type thing?” Steve was there smiling. I felt really good. He mentioned about my CC sales but that was about it. “Did you talk with M about your CC sales yet?” Very anti climatic and I felt really good about that. I gathered a bunch of cans and bottles and JT was going to Tim’s and I said “I’ll buy us both one.” I sat in S’s dialer as he was heading home. I had a good first half pulling in $145 and a CC sale. D was with me. The 2nd half I had a terrible start. No sales for over an hour then I got a $50 and a few more sales for $240. Not quite line hour. I asked M about my report card as Rob calls it and M sat with me in the back room and had nice things to say about me. My CC sales need to pick up but he said I was one of his top sales people and he doesn’t want to see me doing this source. They were actually doing taps for WCS in the afternoon.

I got a few more cans and bottles and called Anne to let her know everything’s all right before I left. I felt really good leaving out of there. I read some on the train going in. There were a few emergency vehicles in the parking lot. Fire crews were holding up florescent signal sticks backing a truck out the lot between the rows of yellow posts from yesterdays photo. I asked one of the crew and he said it was a false alarm.


Anne wasn’t home when I came in. She’s probably shopping at Superstore from across the street. She said she’s cooking shepherds/cottage pie. Good stuff. One of my favorite dishes. Real comfort food.

Last night when Anne and her sister were out shopping at Ikea Anne said how they were looking at a nice glass book case, Anne said that would be just perfect for my books. She said she wants to get it for me when her income tax money comes in. I’d like that. She said it can go right in the living room beside the wall unit.


Ok here’s the long term plan: I’m going to stick with the company I’m working with now. So long as the status quo is kept up, things should be alright. I’ll continue to work at my present job. It’s going to give us a bit more income. Not much more.

I’m trying to work my Feedburner RSS feed into my Blogspot blog posts. I tried doing this earlier but I wasn’t very successful at it. I’ll try this again latter on.

A short one today

My wife was knee deep in laundry when I left out of here at 4pm. Weather was actually pretty mild. No incidents, just go in get a seat on the train, crack open my book and read all the way to the end of the South LRT line and back.

OTH day 1 last night. I dread doing that 4 four months. The event itself is March 18th, We were calling ‘04 and ‘05 taps no less. The 2nd hour we got to call AES/CCSD/DIH. Apparently it’s some of the East Indian kids last month. We’re going to lose 2 tap shooters. Me if I get that ICC job.

I was happy to catch my train for home and watch an excellent Monday night Raw. What a show. Anne brought Boots in for some warmth overnight. I was doing my stuff and we went to bed about 4am after all the laundry was done.

Over the last few days I’ve been reading a lot of my “Icewind Dale” trilogy. My copy is getting pretty beat up. That’s the trouble when transporting large books. I’ve got about 50 pages left to go and with any luck at all, I’ll be able to start on my next book to read: “Fast Forward #1” by Thursday. I have #2 waiting for me at Audrey’s.

Not much going on this week. I’m still waiting to hear from Ms and when I got to Anne’s phone this morning, there were 19 messages on her phone. WTF? If it was Ms trying to reach me, they would have emailed me but so far nothing going on with that. I’ll call before I leave out of here.

Getting back

Looks like another nice day out there even though the temperature is on the cooler side.

Yesterday I thought it would be fun to travel with Anne and her sister but traveling is not high on my "list of priorities" right now. If were offered the chance sure but we’re quite comfortable right here set in our ways. Right now, my job is #1 on my “list of priorities” and making sure that I keep it due to all of these outside influences and such. I’m concerned about this DNC list coming into play next week and if my status quo will be affected. At the same time, my wife is doing well at her new job and I could see myself, pulling in 31 hours/week. The only thing is Pizza has limited morning hours. I think Friday and Saturday. I could do Friday 8 hours (Friday night and Saturday off) Sunday 8 hours, Monday 8 hours, Tuesday Off X Wednesday 8 hours Thursday Off X = 32 hours and 3 days/nights off. I could handle something like that. But, well see.

Today I’ll go in and Rob will hem and haw at me for taking Monday off. I wont say anything to him. Just smile and nod. As for right now I’ve got until 9 days until October 1st when the DNC list comes into affect and I’ll know more about what’s going on, maybe even this week-today, 2nd hand.

Earlier I downloaded Shaw secure which was a long installation. They had a conflict with Norton, which needs to be uninstalled.

Still reading and enjoying Ice.

Last night was Monday night Raw’s 800th episode. It would have been nice to see some old clips sprinkled into the show from their first year, which began in 1993. I didn’t watch the show in the early days because I didn’t have access to it.

It was nice

waiting out at the bus stop there for a few minutes. My bus took me to Clairview station I cracked open my book and I read for a few minutes. Minimum of 15-20 pages/day. I met Gary and Terrell

Outside. JT was off to Starbucks. I grabbed my dialer. We did “Battle of the Badges” and I was doing pretty good there then in the 2nd half I got moved to do CCSD. I ended up doing $580 on a slow night but got 4 credit cards for our team bonus. That gives me more incentive to get the damn things then a friggin $2. I also got a nice collection of cans and bottles to take home. It was pretty busy at the Corona station Concourse. Lots of people out and about tonight due to the “Street Performers festival.” That’s over as of I think Friday but Capital X begins Thursday with the parade. It’s still K-days to me.

Anne called on the train reminding me to turn the oven on for the spuds. When I came in I opened all the windows and turned the oven on. She was on her way home anyway and maybe half an hour behind me. She tossed the Barbie on for the chops and we had a nice dinner watching the news.

Some good movies have been out or are coming out of Hollywood this year. Of course, the recent Indiana Jones movie. Then there was Iron Man and coming up next is The Dark Knight (Batman) movie. Add Hancock and The new Mummy movie and if that weren’t enough there is The Journey to the Center of the Earth and a new X-files movie is also coming out. Then in November there’s a new James Bond movie and even an Harry Potter movie coming out. And if all that isn’t enough there’s a remake of “The day the Earth stood still” and the best for last an new Star Trek movie coming out in December. Despite the upcoming Star Trek movies negative buzz I’m still going to see it but like everything else, when it comes to the dollar theater or cable.

All in all, I had a good day. No Rob. It was into work do the job and head home. I hope today will be an encore of Tuesday.
